What to Expect at Pennington Baptist?

Thank you for your interest in PBC! We are an imperfect church striving to be built upon the perfect foundation of Christ and His Word. This means that we are still sinners saved by grace coming together to seek after God through His Word, to be shaped and molded by the truths we find in scripture. You can expect a family oriented atmosphere and the faithful expository preaching of God's Word.

What should I wear?

Scripture reveals that you should come dressed modestly not seeking attention to be drawn to yourself and distract from the worship of God. From casual jeans and a T-shirt to more formal suits and jackets, there is no specific dress code as long as your attire is appropriate for congregational worship of our Triune God as we are gathered together, children and adults, to worship in spirit and truth.

What are the sermons like?

Here at Pennington, we preach through the bible verse by verse, with occasional topical sermons or series. Expositional preaching in this manner ensures that the whole counsel of God's Word is proclaimed in the true context and meaning without inserting the opinions or misguided thoughts of man. God's Word is sufficient for all things pertaining to life and godliness and we must endeavor to understand the truths of Scripture and not double down on our own assumptions or traditions.

Which association is Pennington Baptist affiliated with?

PBC is affiliated with the Baptist Missionary Association of America and Texas. As a part of the BMA, PBC recognizes the New Hampshire Confession of Faith as being historically and biblically accurate doctrine for God's Church being built through God's Word.

Does PBC have a youth group?

We believe that children learn to worship God by watching others sing Psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs to the Lord, listening intently to God's Word, and living out the Gospel of Christ every day as we walk on this earth. We do encourage our parents to strive to have their children in the service alongside them. However, we also understand that for our little listeners it can be difficult at times to sit and listen intently. So, we do offer children's church and a nursery for 2nd grade and below. For our Wednesday night service, we do offer youth bible study classes for 6th grade and below.
